Spanish celebrities join campaign for uncontacted tribes

Two Spanish celebrities have joined Survival’s campaign to defend the rights and lives of the world’s last uncontacted tribes.
Multi-award-winning singer and actress Ana Belén said, in a statement to mark the launch of Survival’s campaign in Spain for uncontacted tribes, ‘(They) are the most vulnerable people on the planet. If their land and rights to live there are not protected, they will disappear.’
Actor Oscar Jaenada stated, ‘It’s said that the savage is not the one living in the jungle, but the one who destroys it. What are we doing wrong to allow these tragedies to continue?’
Both celebrities narrate, in Spanish, a ground-breaking film produced by Survival and featuring previously unseen footage of some of the world’s most isolated tribes. In total, Survival estimates there are more than 100 uncontacted tribes around the world and all are in grave danger of being forced off their land, killed and decimated by new diseases.
