Bruce Parry, star of the BBC’s hit TV series Tribe, has begun a journey from the source to the mouth of the river Amazon, for a new series, ‘Amazon’, to be broadcast next year.
A new BBC Wales website, which went live last week, is following the progress of the filming party, and includes maps, images and video of the journey.
Bruce and his team will meet some of the region’s diverse tribal peoples during their journey. The Amazon region is home to many of the tribes Survival works with, and many face threats to their land due to logging, mining, cattle ranching, oil exploration and other industrial projects.
