International experts visit the Nukak

A team of international experts are today due to visit the nomadic Nukak tribe, who fled their forest home after Colombia's drug war overran them.
The Nukak now live in a camp in the forest after being moved there by the government six weeks ago. Many of them suffer from malnutrition and have recurring diarrhoea, flu and respiratory infections, and their wild food is in short supply.
From a population of 1,200 just twenty years ago, barely 500 Nukak now survive.
The team of experts are part of an international mission organised by Colombia's national Indian organisation, ONIC, to investigate the situation of Indigenous peoples in Colombia affected by the drug war.
