Mary Robinson - Survival's 'little book contains the big message'

Mary Robinson, former President of Ireland and former UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, has praised Survival's newly launched cartoon book, There you go! by Oren Ginzburg.

'Oren Ginzburg's little book contains the big message that we must avoid the arrogance of presuming to know what's best for those whose voices are not heard in global debates. It reminds us of our shared responsibility to see to it that all people are active participants in shaping the decisions that impact their lives. Only then can we hope to see real development.'

There you go! is a biting critique of how tribal peoples are being destroyed in the name of 'development'. It is designed to be read in two minutes.

A supporter from Botswana said, 'I wish all parts of the world can access the book including the victims of such evictions even here in my native land Botswana.' The Botswana government claims it is evicting the Gana and Gwi Bushmen from their land and dumping them in resettlement camps to 'develop' them.
