”The Time Limit Trick is a gun held to our head”

Woie Kriri Patte, of the Xokleng people, explains why, if the Time Limit Trick is approved by the Supreme Court, it will be catastrophic for Brazil’s Indigenous peoples. The Trick states that Indigenous peoples who cannot prove that they occupied their ancestral lands on 5 October 1988 (the day the constitution was signed) would no longer have the right to live there.
