Imagine being told you can’t worship in your own home.
This is what happened to a group of Chenchu people from Amrabad Tiger Reserve, who were told by forest guards that they weren’t allowed to worship without permission.
This is absurd and a gross violation of their right to freely practice their religion.
But it’s not an isolated incident: it’s part of a sustained campaign to harass and pressure the Chenchu to relocate from the tiger reserve - the forest they’ve lived in and protected for millennia.
