"We shall not leave our motherland"
Listen to J S Tilak, a courageous young Jenu Kuruba boy from India, lead rousing resistance chants. Tilak’s family, along with 51 others, have returned to their ancestral village in Nagarhole forest. Their grandparents were evicted 40 years ago to make way for a Tiger Reserve and have been forced to live on a coffee plantation in slave-like conditions ever since. But the Jenu Kuruba from Karadikallu are sick of having their rights to live in the forest denied and have defied the authorities to return to their lands. They're determined to stay – as Tilak says, “We will not be moved, we are the kings of the forest.”

#TribalVoice is a project by Survival International, the global movement for tribal peoples. More than one hundred and fifty million people in over sixty countries live in tribal societies.
From the Amazon to the Kalahari, from the jungles of India to the Congo rainforest, Tribal Voice gives them a platform. They experience appalling racism and genocidal violence. Their lands and resources are stolen for profit. Their ways of life are being deliberately and systematically destroyed.
Here they speak out about what matters to them; watch, listen, and get involved: https://svlint.org/TribalVoice
