Adivasi people stand up against tiger reserves
Tiger reserves are being created on Indigenous land, without the consent of the Adivasis living there. Once they’re kicked out, their forests are opened up to mass tourism. But the forest, the Indigenous people and the tigers can’t survive without one another.
The Indian authorities are sticking with this colonial model of conservation, which is backed by big conservation NGOs like WWF and WCS. It views Indigenous peoples as trespassers on their own lands, and is rooted in racism.
We’re fighting to #DecolonizeConservation. Stand with Adivasi peoples: https://svlint.org/KingsOfTheForest
