Guarani Kaiowá under attack

A Guarani Kaiowá community in Brazil has been attacked by heavily-armed military police and gunmen hired by ranchers, and a Guarani Kaiowá man, Neri, has been killed.

This horrific attack is far from a one-off. Just last week the same community were attacked for trying to return to their ancestral land stolen by ranchers. Several people were injured.

These attacks, no matter how frequent, must not be normalized: it’s racist violence that must stop.

The government must end the violence, punish the attackers and return the land to the Guarani Kaiowá people.
